Damn, I was more responsible back then than I am now haha

I was always surprised how, umm, 'loose' things were back then. The definition of On-Topic was pretty narrow and people weren't a bit shy about it. Woe to the miscreant who posted something that didn't meet the requirements. A lot of good films had to wait until much later to be posted so people could enjoy them.

Hah we weren't shy about the initial reason for the forum, well ghost and I weren't at least, but peoples tastes differed; I guess it depends on where people are in life. Certainly I can appreciate now how people see these movies as more of a a reminiscent reminder of the vitality of youth, perhaps inspiring a memory that was similar to their own childhood / past. It's interesting that when FLM started up some of the older guys I used to talk to liked the old DEFA movies for this reason, but kind of mixed with a bit of voyeurism; Susanne und der Zauberring for example - shortest shorts ever hahah. I think I seemed crazy to them that really I liked just a few seconds of a movie (haha) unless it had a storyline suited to a younger guy. I see no issue with stating ones preferences, which cannot be changed, whilst adhering to a legal outlet. Just my opinion. When people in the past said they liked to watch these movies because of the "beauty" or because of their GL, it always made me cringe; like lol it's obvious how you would like things to be but you just dress it up in a more respectable way lol.

I missed that, hahahaha very funny But true, it was more "specialised" back then. Perhaps these days it is safer to dissolve the OT stuff with the non-OT stuff. Or perhaps just to cater for different groups of people, you guys seem to have things under control anyway
