It's better than it was, but it has trouble determining context - there, their, and they're for instance. Also, the training would have to be in each language, and the resulting file would be in that language too, not translated - you'd have to use GoogleTrans or similar, then manually time stamp everything. I wish there were a 1-2-3 solution but I haven't seen one yet.
Yeah, an AI smart enough to understand the full nuances of human language would probably respond to your request to subtitle a whole movie by saying "What am I, your fucking slave? Do it yourself!".

I think we'll eventually see something that could produce the time stamps and reasonably accurate text (in the language spoken as you pointed out) but apparently not in the next few years. Oh well. Thanks for sharing your insights.

"X" is something as rare as a Norwegian avant-garde film. Director, Oddvar Einarson, is in the highly personalized embossed black and white portrayal of
street children Flora and photographer Jon Gabriel clearly influenced by the French new wave articles of faith. Flora and Jon Gabriel is an impossible love spades,
held together in tension between the approach and the fear to reveal their identities, between fear and hope. The film has won numerous awards
including Special Jury Prize in Venice in 1986 and Amanda for best Norwegian film in 1987. red

Yes, the actress was only 13 when she filmed "X." I looked up her birth year.

I'm posting the version of Goldberger's disc I made for myself a year and a half ago, with the English subtitles added.

13-year-old Bettina Banoun plays young Flora, a girl who prefers to be called Kim and gets romantically involved with twentysomething photographer Jon Gabriel after running away from home - which her parents aren't too distressed over.

Oddly enough, Bettina gave up acting to become a tax attorney. Her accomplishments include suing the city of Oslo for introducing a property tax, a case which was heard in the Supreme Court this past year and which they won, forcing the municipality to pay back thousands of residents. Just thought that was interesting. Certainly not the career I would've expected, watching her in this film! Wish she'd made a few more before "retiring". ;)

Here are direct links for those who prefer that method or can't use eMule for whatever reason. All I ask is that if you're able to use eMule, please unrar to your shared folder and seed this for a while. Every source helps. You can still burn an .iso file to disc while it's being shared. It won't interfere with the recording process.

This is one of my favourite movies and it was another candidate for a HD version.

Nice! Good choice for an upgrade. We're all grateful for your efforts. :D

I don't suppose I could convince you to work your magic with another of my posts, the movie Moonlight? On top of being one of my all-time favorites the source material is already about as good as DVD gets.

katzenjammer wrote:and those norwegian subtitles are not on DVD :(

If they were, i could have stripped them and translated into english. Maybe possible to write down dialogue and estimated timestamps, but that is a huge job. Not sure i can do it now, but maybe a bit later in april.
Did you ever have the time to make those subtitles? Or, just find them somewhere?
Thanks.

Also, for "Lime (2001)"
