[REL] Flußfahrt mit Huhn (1984)

I've just seen this film on a festival, and having grown up in the Eighties, I enjoyed it a lot. (And I wonder whether it gets screened a lot these days, encouraging children to found secret pirate clubs, run away and have adventures...) Those were the days: running around without safety helmets and mobile phones, climbing trees, and even catching live chicken --! Well, that's about it in the action department, and that's why the movie depicts a great and believable children's adventure. The young (and especially the elderly) actors did a very endearing performance, and the story unfolds without hectic and really engaging.

Maybe a bit too long for real children, but worth seeing!

Note:

It's a BIG file [1.19GB] and to be honest I've just started loading it. I ran an FLM search and it didn't come up and, as it sounds 'on-topic' enough [the girl looks CUTE!! lol!], I felt it was worth sharing.

The DVD is available through Amazon.de. [Search for it as 'Flussfahrt mit Huhn' ] :bigups:

I have the BluRay-version of this movie in HD. It's the so called directors' cut. It`s only about 85 minutes and a lot shorter than the DVD.

Thanks. :D

Director's Cuts aren't always longer. Usually, but not always. Sometimes the studio decided to keep a whole bunch of material the director considered extraneous and wanted to cut.

So I hope, he didn't cut out too much of the girl. :|

Thanks for bumping this. I never heard of this one. It appears to be well-sourced on emule.

As for ghost's note with the BR upgrade, I found this bit of info on imdb:
Was edited into a TV-Series with 5 episodes in half-hour format in 1986, using scenes originally deleted to achieve the necessary episode length but also omitting a considerable number of scenes at the beginning (including Johanna's initial narration and introduction of her diary) to allow for the children to embark in the first episode. This resulted in the first DVD release (which used old broadcast tapes as master) accidentally missing the omitted scenes as well.

So perhaps the BR release is closer to the theatrical release, and may possibly contain scenes that the DVD/TV version omitted.
