Board censorship

Post by mimzy »   1 likes

We've been thinking about whether some blatantly pro-OT posts of previous years should be removed. My personal opinion is that censorship is not needed. People who find certain posts offensive can go to the User Control Panel, add bad users to the List of Foes (underscore should be prepended to users of old site who have not re-registered) and voila, offensive posts are hidden :thumbsup

Admins and Moderators are of course still entitled to remove any posts they want.

Putting someone in the "List of Foes" means all of their posts are hidden from you so that's not really a solution. We don't want to censor anything, but it isn't prudent to be in-your-face about "OT" (whichever definition you use). Looking back through old posts can be an eye-opener, and FLM's reputation suffered because of it. We're just asking people to be careful about how they phrase things.

Those for keeping it will be viewed as someone who is an advocate for it. CP is no longer aloud here even if it is just suggestive. i have seen a few pictures removed and we are not allowing anything 'new' to be posted and it is working. No need to waste time searching the site cleaning up the juvenile pedo crap from prior members of a by gone era. All the regular posters currently active here know how to be safe and yet are still able to provide films/TV shows with out the 'needless' extra comments/pictures and video clips.
